Last week, I attended the independence day celebration at JonOliver’s preschool. Memories of last year’s event floated into mind – we had just moved here, JonOliver had no clue what was going on, he cried the whole time, I cried the whole time, it was a disaster. This year was very different, praise be to God! JonOliver was chosen to carry the flag and lead all the adorable kids in the parade. He also got to wear the painted bull, which is another Salvadoran folkloric tradition. He was so happy and understood everything, and I just sat amazed at how far God has brought us.

If you feel a call to missions but you have little ones at home, and that feels impossible, I just want to encourage you that now might be the very best time to act on that call. Nothing about this journey has been easy, BUT our boys being young has been a blessing in many ways. They are adapting, growing, having such unique experiences, and God is using them here on this mission field for His glory.
